Ways to tell rain is on the way without looking at the forecast. The forecast calls for a few inches of rain over the next few days. If you look around, you can probably already tell there’s more moisture in the air. In order for it to rain, you must have an increase in humidity. This increase in moisture can trigger a number of things. Just look around. -Leaves on a tree tend to curl in high humidity, especially preceding a heavy rain. -Pine cone scales remain closed if the humidity is high, but open in dry air. -Wood swells and doors might be tougher to open - Salt and sugar shakers often get clumps in them
